Evo is seeking a full-time direct hire Commercial Lines Account Manager for our Portland Client.

  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers and company personnel
  • Grow and develop talents and insurance knowledge to highest level possible
  • Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing commercial accounts
  • Initiate and maintain client service plan and value added services for key accounts, reporting updates to producer and account executive on services rendered
    • Work with producer and account executive to ensure service timelines and client promises are met
  • Provide resource when presented an opportunity including the ability to review an account and deliver competitive analysis of options and recommendations as compared to current insurance program
  • Assist producer and account executive in handling and processing of new and renewal commercial lines business
  • Support department in placing new business and renewal account retention to achieve agency/department goals
  • Service commercial lines accounts as assigned and requested
  • Handle day to day management of account including client and carrier requests in a timely manner per department procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carrier partners
  • Collect premiums per established agency procedures
  • Maintain expiration list following department procedures
  • Prepare new business and renewal submissions for quotes
    • Coordinate expirations with producer and/or account executive to compile account information including required supplemental documentation, underwriting data and quote option needs
    • Prepare proposals of insurance including forms analysis and premium comparisons
    • Participate in client visits with producer or account executive as necessary
  • Market submissions to carriers as appropriate and aggressively negotiate new and renewal pricing with carrier
    • Quote online as required by carrier
  • Review all applications, quotes, policies, endorsements and audits for accuracy
  • Set up and prepare new and renewal account files per agency procedures
  • Invoice premium bearing transactions
  • Notify producer or account executive of any unpaid audits and request appropriate actions be made according to agency collections procedure
  • Prepare account summaries as required
  • Prepare policies, endorsements, certificates, auto ID cards and related documents for delivery to insureds as needed
  • Prepare and process cancellations when required per agency procedures
  • Prepare and process all certificate requests as required within 24 hours of request per agency procedures
  • Report claims to carrier and assist in claims management issues as needed
  • Maintain suspense items in a timely manner
  • Maintain all client service activity in the agency automation system. Immediately report all malfunctions of system software to the systems manager
  • Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through circulars, bulletins, trade publications, seminars and schools offered by preferred carrier partners and surplus markets available
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development
    • Provide technical updates as appropriate and serve as resource to other agency personnel
  • Service commercial lines accounts in a manner that eliminates gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposure
  • Prioritize workload and request assistance as required
  • Assist other departments, producers and account executives in cross selling and account rounding
    • Help secure and/or provide information necessary to issue appropriate policies for which we have a mutual client
  • Meet with clients as requested to discuss and handle their insurance needs
  • Keep producer and account executive fully informed of all important activities on their accounts
    • Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by producer, account executive or department manager
  • Coordinate carrier loss control activities and provide summary regarding results of meeting for file
  • Perform policy audit review on new business opportunities as needed
    • Analyze current program to determine coverage gaps, concerns and recommendations
    • Prepare conceptual proposal based on findings working closely with the producer to customize the report to fit presentation needs
  • Prepare annual stewardship reports as required
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Professional designation preferred
    • Must hold or currently be working toward industry professional designation such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Knowledge of computer systems and operations is required
  • Good listening skills and attention to detail are critical
  • Technical knowledge and thorough understanding of commercial insurance and products is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Capable of managing multiple projects

  • High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
  • Must be flexible and reliable
  • 4 year Bachelor s degree and a minimum 2 years experience as a customer service agent or demonstrated job experience as a receptionist and/or administrative support position
  • Must be licensed per state requirements
  • Occasional lifting of files approximately 20 pounds or less
  • Must be able to travel within service territory including greater Oregon and Washington as needed
  • Must have valid driver s license, insurance and transportation
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
