Evo is seeking a System Engineer to provide general engineering support on well-defined engineering problems; formulate systems scope and objectives; analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems, and devise or modify procedures to solve problems using data processing and networking sub systems. This is a permanent, full-time position with our Beaverton Client.

  • Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems
  • Develops, plans, and implements the overall strategic goals of an organization's network system
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future network requirements to meet the organization's needs
  • Recommends and schedules repairs
  • Provides end users support for all LAN/WAN- based applications
  • Installs and configures servers
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs
  • Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN and WAN
  • Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer applications
  • Assess and review current technology infrastructure to identify key risk areas, and ensure adequate levels of controls are in place to address those risks following a set security methodology
  • Monitor and evaluate internal and external network security
  • Perform security reviews on systems and development projects as directed
  • Document, and maintain documentation on network security as it relates to all, hardware and software configurations, network configurations and user systems
  • Implementation of security software updates / upgrades and changes
  • Ability to coordinate with IT Staff to provide emergency assistance in the event of systems failure
  • Provide quality customer support in a fast and efficient manner
  • Provide response for virus detection and removal
  • Implement suitable vulnerability and threat management in order to safeguard the information assets
  • Assess and review current technology infrastructure to identify key risk areas, and ensure adequate levels of controls are in place to address those risks
  • Recommend and Implement monitoring technologies
  • Provide real-time monitoring of corporate network infrastructure and applications
  • Monitor and evaluate internal and external network security
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Problem solving aptitude in order to recognize, diagnose, and implement security solutions for diverse network infrastructure
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator
  • Physical mobility required to move and install up to 30 lb. of computer equipment
Proficient in:
  • All Windows platforms (Sever 2016, 2012 R2, Windows 10)
  • Remote management and administration
  • Writing complex shell scripts (Command shell, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Configuring, supporting and leveraging Active Directory, PKI and industry standard authentication providers
  • SAN Technologies
  • Server Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Server Hardware Maintenance
  • Exchange Environments Local, Cloud and Hybrid
  • Distributed Applications Environments
  • Networking Components and various Internet servers/services (DHCP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SSH, QoS, Traffic Shaping, MPLS, IPS, Load balancing, etc.).
  • Enterprise Backup Strategies
Exposure or working knowledge in:
  • System Center Suite
  • SQL Server Experience
  • Private Cloud (Azure Pack/Stack)
  • Public Cloud Familiarity (Azure, AWS)
  • Knowledgeable in High Availability and BCP concepts (RAID, SPOFs, Regional reliance, HA Clustering, Server Farms, etc.)
  • Database Driven Application Integrations
  • Enterprise Applications such as: SalesForce, Dynamics GP, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, SIEM, SolarWinds a plus
  • Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS)
Preferred candidates to have an industry recognized certification in:
  • MCSA/MCSE 2008, 2012 or newer
  • Intrusion detection / analysis (SANS/GCIA or SCSE, or any other) a plus but not required
